The punishment for sin is severe. Apostle Paul wrote “the wages of sin is death”. There is no escape from it. As it is written in Ecclesiastes 8:8, “No one can control the wind or lock it in a box. No one has any say-so regarding the day of death. No one can stop a battle in its tracks. No one who does evil can be saved by evil.” (The Message). Man is powerless against sin. Sinners are condemned to death and hell. We are all shackled and bound by sin.

Even if a man gather all wealth in the world, its amount will not be sufficient to buy freedom from sin. Even the greatest knowledge and wisdom of man will fall short to acquire salvation. The combination of power and strength cannot unchained our lives from the cluthches of sin. There is nothing on earth that can provide relief from the power of sin.

But God is offering an escape because He loves us. In Romans 5:8, “God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us” (Amplified).  His love is not mere words nor based on physical attraction but pure love.

His love is not for the highest bidder nor for the beautiful and handsome. It encompasses the whole world. It reaches every single person in the planet.

Once a sinner believed on what Jesus Christ has said and done, he will be saved. Because “by the death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death-that is, the devil- and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death” (Hebrews 2:14, NIV). He overpowered sin and death. And those who believe in Him will be given power to overcome them.

For this reason God is calling us to be in one whith Christ. Because once we are with Christ, there is no more condemnation or payment for sin. Everything was paid for Him. And this is the Good News that He commissioned to His disciples to proclaim to the whole world.

The invitation of Christ remains. It is open for all. And once we accept it, then there will be no more condemnation to those in Christ.
