Before we proceed on knowing this topic, first of all, we must know what is a vision in the biblical teaching? Vision means the experience of having a revelation from God. It is about what things to come or even revealing things of the past. It will serve as a warning to the one receiving and maybe also to his companion or people.

The Word of God in Proverbs 29:18

“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”

It is very true in the times of the coming doom of people because of God’s wrath against sin. The Bible says that sin will have its final reward of condemnation. An example was in the days of Noah. Noah received the vision about the coming flood where they will be carried away. Because of that vision to Noah, he built an ark, Heb 11:7.

“By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became the heir of the righteousness which is by faith.”

But the people didn’t hear his warning. They ignored what Noah says about what was revealed to him by God. They disregarded his message and above all, they did not listen to him. In Matthew 24:39,

“And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”

In the End-time, it will be the same according to the Bible. Because of God’s revelation to Noah, he escaped the flood. He did not perish. So, that vision became a blessing to him and to his family.

Without a vision, the people will perish. As it is today, God has ordained that in the End-time or in the end of the last days, God will judge the world as in the days of Noah but not by flood anymore but by fire, 2 Peter 3:5-7,

“For this day willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water.”

Verse 6,

“Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:”

Verse 7,

“But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.”

There is also a vision of the people when they are praying, God has promised salvation and blessings to them. Like what the Bible says in Joel 2:12-17

… “Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning.”

Verse 13,

“And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: foe he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.”

Verse 14,

“Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the Lord your God?”

Verse 15,

“Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly.”

Verse 16,

“Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of his closet.”

Verse 17,

“Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O Lord, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?”

Joel warned the people of God’s purpose. He proclaimed a fast for God’s people. If they hear and listen to the warning of the prophets, they will know about God’s promise. The promises are in verses 23-27,

“Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.”

Verse 24,

“And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil.”

Verse 25,

“And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.”

Verse 26,

“And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.”

Verse 27,

“And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel and that I am the Lord your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.”

It is not only the material blessings but above all the spiritual blessing coming from God. Joel 2:28-32,

“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see a vision.”

Verse 29,

“And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.”

Verse 30,

“And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.”

Verse 31,

“The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the Lord come.”

Verse 32,

“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.”

Those who will call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.Blessed be the name of the Lord.

In the same way, as in the days of Noah, he revealed to them what will happen and the one who receives that vision was saved from the flood. They were blessed by God. They were the one who enjoys God’s goodness when God told them after the flood that they replenish the earth. They were blessed in this replenishing the earth.

See what vision can do with people. If they will not hear, they will receive God’s judgment and cannot escape. But if they will hear, they will receive God’s blessing, the fulfillment of His great purpose.

It is very clear that in the days of Noah, his household was saved but to those who did not hear him, they were all carried away by the flood. In Matthew 24:39; 42,

“And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”

Verse 42,

“Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”

We must watch. We are warned to watch. But God is very merciful as in the days of Noah that He ordained the remnant to replenish the earth.

In our time that is the End-time, God’s mercies and goodness still overflow. This is what Jesus said in Matthew 24:43,

“But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.”

This is a prophecy of rising the Goodman of the House to lead the Church. God declared the Goodman of the House that he will be like Noah. He received and given a revelation from God. In our time, that man is identified as the Goodman of the House, means a leader of a religious organization.

The house in the Bible means the Church of God, 1 Tim 3:15.

“But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the Church of the living God, and pillar and ground of the truth.”

We were built together as a temple of God in the Spirit. God is willingly leading the Church through the Holy Spirit. In this house, there will be a Goodman of the House like Noah. He will be the one to make his household watch. He knows the future because God revealed to him a vision. In the End-time, God is very specific. The Goodman of the house means the leader of the Church who received the revelation about the end time like Noah in his time.

In 1 Corinthians 12:28,

“And God hath set some in the Church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracle, then gifts of healing, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.”

In the End-time, the leaders of the Church are the Apostles. The Apostle is one of the greatest gifts of God that will always be in the Church. As in the days of Pentecost, there were 12 apostles leading the Church.

Then it continued in the time of Paul (Acts 14:14), in the time of Church of Rome. In Romans 16:6-7.

“Greet Mary, who bestowed much labour on us. Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellow prisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.”

Read also very carefully what Ephesians 4:11 relates,

“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers.”

In the Church of God, therefore, the apostles are the gifts of the Holy Spirit from God which is always in the Church. Because the promise is to whom the Lord shall call, Acts 2:39.

“For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our Lord shall call.”

Even in the early Church during the time of the Church in Corinth, they still enjoy all the gifts of the Holy Spirit in the Church. The Bible says, “…so that ye come behind in known gift waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” It means that they have the complete gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Like in the Church in Jerusalem to Antioch and in the Church in Corinth, they were not behind in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. They have all the complete gifts of the Holy Spirit and they were waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Church.

The waiting or the watching Church for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ is the Church with complete gifts of the Holy Spirit. They are not in want of any of the gifts. Because the grace, gift and the calling of God are without repentance. It means irrevocable. The Church will always have its complete gifts. Among the gifted men of God, the Apostles come firstly and very important. In John 20:21,

“Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so, send I you.”

John 13:20,

“Verily, verily, I say unto, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.”

This Goodman of the house which is the leader is the first in rank in the Church with all the knowledge of the watches. All will be revealed to him by God. This is God’s promise. So, that vision is a blessing to him and to his entire household. The blessing of vision is very necessary. Without a vision, the people will perish, Proverbs 29:18.

There will be a man of vision. He perceives the time and the seasons which no other one has known. This will be a great blessing in the End-time. People will be ready for the second coming of Christ. It will be an usher of the kingdom of God, the one thousand years reign of Christ. While those who without a vision will be the end of the world, Matthew 24:3,

“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?”

God bless you. Take the vision from God. To those who have no vision because no one receives a vision from God, it will be a doom to them. They will all perish. But to those who receive the vision from God through the Goodman of the House, it will be a blessing to you.

The world was all carried away but the household of Noah replenishes the earth. The Goodman of the house who received revelation like Noah will live and reign in the kingdom of God and Christ.
