More than National Heroes: HFGC Laguna Introduces the Greatest Hero of All Time
Home Free Global Crusade Laguna Draws Thousands to Christ in Historic Calamba Gathering
CALAMBA CITY, LAGUNA — The greatest Hero of all mankind, Jesus Christ, was proclaimed in the province known as the birthplace of the Philippine national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, as the Home Free Global Crusade: Saved, Healed, Delivered Tour successfully held its fifth leg at the Jose Rizal Coliseum in Calamba City on May 24, 2026.
Despite the scorching afternoon heat, more than 11,600 people filled the venue, demonstrating a strong hunger for God and a desire to experience His saving grace. The crusade became a powerful night of worship, inspiration, and transformation as thousands gathered to hear the message of salvation through Jesus Christ.
Inspiring Performances Prepare Hearts for Worship
The event opened with vibrant presentations that celebrated both faith and local culture while preparing the audience for a life-changing encounter with God.
Young Watchers from the Eastern and Western Laguna Districts delivered a colorful cultural dance showcasing the rich heritage, traditions, scenic attractions, and hospitality of Laguna. The performance highlighted the province’s unique identity while giving glory to God through artistic expression.
This was followed by an energetic modern dance presentation by Grace Sor, also composed of youth members from the Laguna District. Their performance demonstrated how creativity and talent can be used to honor God in both traditional and contemporary forms.
Adding to the excitement, Pastor Sammy Bagcat ministered through music, performing inspiring songs including “Handa Ka Na Ba?”—a powerful song that encourages listeners to prepare their hearts for salvation.
Presbyter Polly Mendoza then led the opening prayer, committing the entire gathering into God’s hands.
The Home Free Global Crusade Praise and Worship Team, together with the Laguna District Choir, ushered the congregation into God’s presence through songs such as Worship, The King Is in the Room, and Come Into the Light. The atmosphere became filled with praise and expectation as attendees prepared to receive the Word of God.
The official HFGC dance ministry, Christ-Up Movers, further energized the audience through a dynamic worship presentation that glorified God through movement and creativity.
Home Free Global Crusade Laguna Features Dionela’s Message of Humility and Faith
Dionela Encourages the Crowd to Respond to God’s Voice
One of the special guests of the evening was OPM singer-songwriter Dionela, whose presence added excitement and inspiration to the crusade.
Aside from performing some of his original songs, Dionela led the audience in worship through well-loved Christian songs including Here I Am to Worship, Mighty to Save, and What a Beautiful Name.
During his segment, he shared a heartfelt message about humility and surrender before God, reminding the audience that music can be a powerful avenue through which God speaks to people.
“Humility says: God, I’m tired of doing this on my own. I need You right now to save me,” Dionela shared.
He emphasized that true transformation begins when people set aside pride and recognize their need for God.
Apostle Jonathan Ferriol Proclaims Jesus Christ as the Greatest Hero
Following the musical presentations, Bishop Aldrin Palanca welcomed the guests, highlighted Laguna’s historic significance, and introduced the keynote speaker, Apostle Jonathan S. Ferriol.
In his powerful three-point message, Apostle Jonathan explained why Jesus Christ is the greatest Hero who ever lived.
Drawing from biblical truths, he emphasized that Jesus:
- Appeared at the proper time.
- Offered the greatest sacrifice.
- Saved humanity from its greatest crisis—sin.
He declared that through Christ’s death and resurrection, salvation remains available to everyone who believes in Him.
As the message concluded, Apostle Jonathan presented three essential steps for receiving salvation:
- Believe in Jesus Christ
- Repent from sin
- Be baptized
“This is the proper time for you to receive the light and open up your heart to Jesus,” Apostle Jonathan proclaimed.
The message stirred the hearts of thousands, leading many to make life-changing decisions to follow Christ.
Thousands Respond to the Message of Salvation
The Home Free Global Crusade Laguna concluded with an overwhelming response from both in-person and online audiences.
The event recorded:
- 11,600 in-person attendees
- 57,901 online viewers
- 9,122 decisions of faith
- 4,387 baptisms
These remarkable numbers reflect the continuing impact of the Home Free Global Crusade in bringing the message of salvation to communities across the Philippines and beyond.
More importantly, the crusade celebrated something far greater than attendance figures—the lives that were saved, healed, and delivered through the transforming power of Jesus Christ.
As another successful crusade concluded, one message remained clear: the greatest victory is seeing souls come to Christ and begin a new life in Him.
