CAVITE, Philippines – April 12, 2025 — In a powerful display of faith and unity, the International Young Watchers Department (IYWD) of the Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ (4th Watch) hosted its much-anticipated annual online event, Generation NOW, via a closed Facebook livestream. With the 2025 Philippine midterm elections on the horizon, this year’s theme resonated deeply: urging young Christians to prioritize their heavenly citizenship over temporary political affiliations.

A Call to Spiritual Clarity from Apostle Jonathan S. Ferriol

The highlight of the event was the inspiring message delivered by Apostle Jonathan S. Ferriol, the Chief Executive Minister of PMCC (4th Watch). Speaking with conviction and pastoral care, Apostle Ferriol reminded the youth that their ultimate identity is not rooted in earthly politics, but in their divine calling as citizens of heaven.

“Our lives here on earth must be defined by our belongingness to heaven. There exists a citizenship far above and beyond our earthly one—our heavenly citizenship,” he proclaimed.

This foundational truth served as a spiritual compass for the young believers tuning in. Apostle Jonathan S. Ferriol underscored the danger of allowing political ideologies to overshadow one’s Christian walk:

“It’s concerning when Christians, especially 4th Watchers, display more fervor for political interests than for their heavenly responsibilities. Our faith should guide our actions, not political ideologies.”

Jesus Christ: The Perfect Example of Balance

Apostle Jonathan S. Ferriol pointed to Jesus Christ as the supreme model for navigating political and societal structures. Despite living under Roman occupation, Jesus demonstrated honor and respect for human laws while remaining fully committed to His divine purpose.

“Jesus observed human laws, paid taxes, and honored those in authority. He didn’t incite rebellion or speak ill of leaders. His life exemplified how to navigate worldly systems while maintaining spiritual integrity,” he said.

This message served as both a reminder and a challenge: to imitate Christ’s example by engaging respectfully in society without compromising one’s spiritual identity.

Promoting Christian Unity During Politically Divisive Times

Recognizing the polarizing nature of political seasons, especially during elections, Apostle Jonathan S. Ferriol urged young believers to uphold unity in the body of Christ. He emphasized that while opinions may differ, love and truth should always prevail.

“Elections can be polarizing, but our unity in Christ should transcend political differences. Let love, peace, truth, and justice be the guiding principles in all our decisions, including voting.”

In a digital world where political debates can easily spiral into hostility, the message was a timely call for Christian maturity and discernment. Young Watchers were reminded that their primary allegiance is to God, and this should be reflected not only in their words but in their actions—especially on social media.
