The Work of God in Kenya
Africa is a continent with a deeply religious spirit, but many people in Kenya are cautious about the Church. This is largely due to the extreme and sometimes abusive practices of some churches, which has led to hesitation in accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior. However, through the grace of God, the true gospel preached by the Pastors of the PMCC (4th Watch) has touched the hearts of many, helping them understand the importance of being part of the true Church. The doctrine of the Second Coming of Christ, and the testimony of the late Apostle Arsenio T. Ferriol’s life and ministry, have opened the eyes of the people to the reality of the true Church of the End-Time.
A Life Transformed by God’s Call
My personal experience in Kenya has been a testament to God’s mighty power. Encouraged and inspired by the testimonies of Apostle Arsenio T. Ferriol and Bishop Jonathan S. Ferriol, I felt equipped for the challenges of my missionary journey. Initially, I was hesitant to enter full-time ministry because of my fear of failure. However, the 2020 pandemic stirred something deep within me. Despite my fears, I felt an undeniable call from God to reach out to others and invite them to church. As I became more involved in the ministry, I witnessed firsthand how Pastor Gemma and Presbyter Erwin Dela Cruz led the Reaching Regions Beyond (RRB) Mission in Tijuana with great success.
In August 2022, I had the honor of joining Pastor Mayette Marquez and her husband, Elder Leo Marquez, on a missionary trip to Kenya. By 2023, after the Church’s Golden Anniversary, I was appointed as a student pastor in Maralal, Kenya. Three weeks before the church’s inauguration, I rallied the local believers to pray for growth. By God’s grace, the number of baptisms doubled, and we had over one hundred people attend the event. The inauguration was a great success, and we were joined by several church leaders, including Bishop Aldrin Palanca, Presbyter Elleza Palanca, and Presbyter Erwin Dela Cruz. One of the highlights of the event was the baptism of Sister Celine, the chief of Manolo.
Expanding God’s Kingdom in Kenya
God is not only at work in Maralal but also in Nairobi. Following instructions from Bishop Jonathan and Presbyter Maritess Ferriol, I expanded the scope of the ministry. One day, I met Samuel, a troubled man who was contemplating suicide. He cried out to God for help, and that’s when I was led to his door. He invited us inside, and we shared biblical guidance with him. That same day, he was baptized. Now, Samuel is actively involved in our Nairobi extension, where he leads others to the truth.
In just three weeks, I witnessed God’s mighty hand at work in Kenya. We conducted outreaches, baptisms, worship services, and various forms of evangelism. The Kenyan believers’ vibrant and enthusiastic worship was a powerful testimony of their devotion to God. Every Sunday, their joyful songs and dances filled the air with praises to the Lord.
Carrying on a Legacy
The ministry of Pastor Mayette and Elder Leo Marquez has paved the way for the success of the work in Kenya. Their sacrifices and dedication to the souls longing for salvation have deeply impacted me. Through their ministry, I have been able to witness the blessings of God and the growth of the work. Their commitment to the mission has inspired me to continue their noble work with passion and zeal.
I resonate deeply with the verse from Matthew 28:18 (ESV), “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” This command to spread the gospel, exemplified by our late Apostle Arsenio, is the mission we must continue. We are all called to be faithful stewards of God’s word, spreading hope and salvation to all.
A Humbling Calling
Who would have imagined that God would choose me to serve as His instrument in Kenya, a place where life can be so challenging? It’s truly humbling to realize that, despite being an ordinary person, God has chosen me for His purpose. I never imagined myself serving as a pastor in Kenya, but God’s plans are always greater than ours. For this incredible opportunity, I am deeply grateful. I am in awe of God’s faithfulness and ready to face the challenges that lie ahead. With God by my side, I embrace my calling to spread His love and grace to the people of Kenya.
