CENTRAL VISAYAS, Philippines — September 2026 — The Central Visayas Church Growth Summit 2026 brought together ministers, church elders, officers, and selected brethren from Cebu and Bohol for a strategic gathering centered on spiritual development, ministry advancement, and church expansion.

With the theme, “Empowered to expand and equipped to serve!”, the 2nd Church Growth Summit of the year provided a meaningful platform for leaders and ministry workers to strengthen their commitment to the mission of the Church. The gathering emphasized the importance of spiritual readiness, organizational unity, practical skills, and effective strategies in advancing the work of God.

Central Visayas Church Growth Summit Focuses on Church Expansion

At the heart of the Central Visayas Church Growth Summit was the shared commitment to strengthening local congregations while supporting the wider mission of the Church. Under the leadership of Presbyter Polly Mendoza, Central Visayas District Coordinator, participants engaged in discussions focused on current church growth initiatives, outreach efforts, ministry development, and operational objectives for the remainder of 2026 and beyond.

The summit highlighted the importance of combining spiritual fervor with disciplined and strategic action. Leaders were encouraged to evaluate existing practices, identify areas for improvement, and establish clear directions that could contribute to sustainable church growth throughout the district.

One of the major areas discussed was the implementation of the Discipleship Matrix, an initiative aligned with the direction of Chief Executive Minister Apostle Jonathan S. Ferriol. The discussions focused on strengthening community engagement, improving disciple retention, and supporting the continued expansion of local congregations.

Through these conversations, the participants were reminded that church growth involves more than numerical increase. It also requires intentional discipleship, faithful service, spiritual maturity, and a unified approach to fulfilling the mission entrusted to the Church.

Strategic Plans Strengthen the District’s Mission

Presbyter Polly Mendoza emphasized the need for both spiritual passion and strategic execution in expanding the reach of the Gospel. The summit therefore became an avenue for local leaders to gain greater clarity regarding their responsibilities and to align their efforts with the broader Apostolic mission.

The participants also discussed preparations for the upcoming Central Visayas District Church-Wide Anniversary, scheduled for November 15, 2026. Strategic plans were likewise presented for the Home Free Global Crusade 2027, with Cebu set to serve as the host city for the second time.

These upcoming activities underscored the importance of advance preparation, effective coordination, and active participation among the churches throughout the district. The summit provided an opportunity for leaders to examine how their respective ministries could contribute to these significant events and help create a stronger foundation for future endeavors.

Ministry Enhancement Workshops Equip Servants

Following the general strategic meeting, the Central Visayas Church Growth Summit transitioned into concurrent Ministry Enhancement workshops designed to strengthen the practical and ministry-related capabilities of participants.

The specialized sessions covered several important areas of church service, including:

  • Discipleship Matrix
  • Ushering
  • Media
  • Children’s Worship
  • Hospitality
  • Music
  • Creative Arts

Each workshop focused on equipping participants with practical knowledge and skills that could be applied within their respective local churches. The sessions also reinforced the understanding that effective ministry requires preparation, teamwork, dedication, and a willingness to continually improve.

By providing targeted training across different ministry areas, the summit helped participants recognize how each department contributes to the overall life and mission of the Church. From welcoming worshippers and caring for children to strengthening media operations and supporting worship services, every ministry has an important role in building a healthy and growing congregation.

Empowered to Expand and Equipped to Serve

The atmosphere of the Central Visayas Church Growth Summit 2026 reflected a strong sense of unity and shared purpose. As ministers, elders, officers, and brethren participated in the discussions and workshops, the gathering reinforced the importance of working together toward a common mission.

The knowledge gained during the summit is intended to be carried back into the local churches across Cebu and Bohol. The strategies discussed and the ministry skills developed can serve as practical tools for strengthening congregational life, improving service, and preparing the district for its upcoming responsibilities.

More importantly, the summit served as a significant step toward preparing the Central Visayas District for the Home Free Global Crusade 2027. With Cebu once again set to host the worldwide evangelistic event, the need for spiritual preparation, ministry readiness, and organized cooperation remains vital.

As the district continues to develop its ministries and strengthen its churches, the message of the summit remains clear: God’s work requires servants who are spiritually empowered and practically equipped.

The Central Visayas Church Growth Summit 2026 concluded with renewed determination among its participants to return to their respective local churches ready to serve, lead, disciple, and contribute to the continuing growth of God’s Kingdom.

With hearts prepared for greater service and hands ready for the work ahead, the ministers, elders, officers, and brethren of the Central Visayas District move forward in unity and faith—empowered to expand and equipped to serve.

To God be the highest glory!
