Arsenio Tan Ferriol

Who is Arsenio T. Ferriol?

Apostle Arsenio Tan Ferriol was born on January 14, 1936 in Barrio Anahaw, Odiongan, Romblon. He is the third of nine children of a middle class family. His father, Juan Ferriol, was a prominent figure in the community having served as barrio captain for a long period of time. His mother, Mariana Tan, of Chinesedescent, was a hardworking and industrious businesswoman. His siblings are Artemio, Pacita, Arturo, Leonor, Domingo, Librada, Leticia, and Lenie.

Arsenio attributes his values and principles largely to his upbringing. His father was a very influential figure in his life. From his father’s admonitions, he learned to prioritize things – love of God, country, parents, kapwa (fellowmen) and one’s self. His father also emphasized the value of one’s honor and dignity. He was reminded that loss of honor and dignity is a far worse fate than loss of money and health. For honor is the most important thing.

His Calling

It was a simple conversation with Perfecto Baliquat, one of the people that influenced his early days as a believer, that Brother Arsenio T. Ferriol started thinking about his own calling.

And I asked him, “What do you mean to say?” “What will I be?” “How is that?”

He said, “You ask God”.

And then I ask him, “Will God answer me?” “It’s too much when you ask God and He will answer.”

“Of course, He will answer you because He is God.” And that’s what I did.
