MARIKINA CITY, PHILIPPINES — In a moving expression of faith and civic responsibility, the Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ (4th Watch) successfully mobilized its global congregation in a united Prayer for the Nation on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 4:30 AM. With the Philippine National Election 2025 drawing near, the event sought divine guidance for peace, integrity, and the emergence of righteous leaders.

The prayer gathering took place at the PMCC (4th Watch) Marikina Special District and was broadcast live via the church’s International Services Closed Facebook group, allowing members worldwide to participate. Anchored on the theme “Prayer for Clean, Honest, and Peaceful Elections,” the event reaffirmed the church’s enduring commitment to spiritual intercession as a means of national transformation.

Apostle Jonathan S. Ferriol: “Not to Pray is to Fail Our Country”

In the days leading up to the event, Chief Executive Minister Apostle Jonathan S. Ferriol issued a heartfelt call for participation, emphasizing the urgent need for prayer during a critical time in the nation’s history.

“Prayer is one of the most important weapons to achieve peace. We must pray for peace in the Philippines,” Apostle Ferriol declared. “Not to pray is to fail our country.”

He underscored that Prayer for the Nation was not merely a religious routine, but a moral and spiritual duty of every believer who seeks the welfare of their homeland.

Global Participation in One Spirit

Thousands of PMCC (4th Watch) members from around the world joined the prayer in unison—either onsite or via livestream. The global response demonstrated the church’s strong spirit of unity and unwavering belief in the power of collective prayer to impact national events such as the Philippine National Election 2025.

Apostle Ferriol was joined by prominent church leaders, including Bishop Aldrin Palanca, Presbyter Levi Ferriol, Presbyter Rene Fremista, and Presbyter Vicky Alano, who led the congregation in prayers centered on three key areas:

  • Righteous Leadership – That candidates who fear God, serve with humility, and uphold justice would be elected.

  • Electoral Integrity – That the upcoming elections would be free from violence, fraud, and corruption.

  • National Peace – That unity and healing would prevail amid political and social tensions.

Prayer as a National Responsibility

The PMCC (4th Watch) leadership reminded its members that prayer is not only a spiritual practice, but also a national responsibility. The church has long promoted the view that genuine change begins in the hearts of a praying people.

“In this time of uncertainties, we cannot afford to be passive,” Apostle Ferriol had told the congregation. “Prayer is not just a ritual—it is a duty to our nation.”

The church’s long-standing commitment to national prayer was evident in the widespread response to this initiative. A similar event earlier in the year drew overwhelming participation, with testimonies from members who experienced renewed strength, clarity, and hope for the country.

“When we pray together, we witness miracles,” said one church member. “And as we approach this election, our nation needs miracles more than ever.”

A Call That Transcended Denominations

Though initiated by PMCC (4th Watch), the event was open to all Filipinos, regardless of denomination. The church extended its invitation broadly, encouraging everyone to participate in praying for the nation’s future.

“This is not about politics; it’s about righteousness,” Apostle Ferriol stressed. “When we seek God’s will, He answers. Let us be instruments of peace and healing for our nation.”

As the nation moves closer to election day, the Prayer for the Nation stands as a testament to the power of faith-driven unity. PMCC (4th Watch)’s efforts, led by Apostle Jonathan S. Ferriol, remind the country that even in uncertain times, prayer can serve as both a moral compass and a call to collective action.
