Amidst the pouring rain, the rolling thunder, and every hindrance that came their way, an even greater outpouring of blessings shone forth as the Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ (4th Watch) – Marikina Main joyfully celebrated its 52nd Church Anniversary at the Marikina Sports Complex last October 19.
With one spirit and a triumphant cry of “Ulan ka lang, 4th Watcher kami!”, the faithful brethren from the Marikina Special District and neighboring churches gathered as one family to honor this sacred milestone—a time of reflection, thanksgiving, and rejoicing for the fifty-two glorious years that God has graciously bestowed upon the Marikina Main Church.
A Grand Opening of Praise
The celebration began with vibrant energy as the Apostolic Missionary Program (AMP) students presented a mass demonstration of praise, lifting their voices in worship worthy of the Almighty. This was followed by a colorful parade featuring Cadets, Youth, Adults, Elders, Pastors, Ministers, and Muses from various clusters across the Marikina Special District—showcasing the unity and diversity of God’s people and the far-reaching mission of the Church. The procession culminated with the solemn entry of the Philippine National Flag and the Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ (4th Watch) Flag, symbols of faith and the nation.
Pastor Kirsten Ferriol, together with Bishop Samuel Ferriol, formally opened the celebration, warmly welcoming the brethren to this momentous occasion. They extended heartfelt greetings and words of gratitude to all in attendance, joining together in thanksgiving for God’s unending grace that has sustained and blessed the Church for 52 glorious years.
A City’s Gratitude
The celebration was graced by Honorable Mayor Marcy “Maan” Teodoro, Mayor of Marikina City, who delivered an inspiring message of appreciation. She highlighted how the church—since its humble beginnings—has been a steadfast partner in spreading God’s message and serving the community through continuous evangelism and outreach.
Voices of Worship
The worship service commenced under the leadership of Elder Rachel Pastor, who led the congregation in a heartfelt declaration of humble submission to God’s abounding grace. Sister Shane Daganio and the Praise and Worship Team then ushered everyone into a unified spirit of adoration—lifting songs that magnified the powerful name of the Lord who blessed the momentous occasion.
With passionate conviction, Presbyter Phet Enriquez led a solemn prayer, inviting the Holy Spirit to move freely and fill every heart. In reverence to God’s Word, the congregation remained standing as Bro. Benjamin Sico led the meditative reading of Scripture, reminding all of the sacred foundation upon which their faith stands.
Songs of Heaven
Angelic voices filled the air as the United Voices of Marikina rendered a heartfelt song of praise—a heavenly hymn of gratitude that echoed across the complex, uplifting every soul in attendance.
The Message of Giving
Bishop Samuel Ferriol, head pastor of the Marikina Locale, delivered a stirring message on the grace of giving. He urged the brethren to continue supporting God’s mission faithfully, emphasizing that every act of giving contributes to the greater work of evangelism—reaching more people and winning more souls for Christ.
Apostolic Revival: The Flame Continues
The Marikina Young Watchers Department presented a powerful performance titled “The Apostolic Revival Catalyst.”The presentation paid tribute to the Torchbearers of the Fire, reminding everyone that through every generation, God raises chosen vessels to ignite revival among His people.
Even when the world seems silent and faith begins to fade, God’s Spirit continues to move through men and women who dare to stand, preach, and awaken hearts—proving that the fire of the 4th Watch continues to burn brightly in this generation.
Grace Beyond the Rain
The culmination of the event came through the powerful and unadulterated Word of God preached by Apostle Jonathan S. Ferriol. He emphasized that throughout history, we are God’s greatest project—chosen, built, and sustained by Him for a divine purpose.
“We are God’s project—we do not belong to anybody,” he declared, reminding the congregation that Christ, the Chief Cornerstone, is the reason for the Church’s enduring strength and longevity.
With gratitude, the Apostle proclaimed, “Thank God He chose, picked, and set His eyes on me.” Despite His vast power, God has placed every believer within His Church—the place of our greatest impact—where we are shaped as His handiwork and called to live differently, reflecting His grace through good works.
He challenged the brethren to live as producers, innovators, and creators in God’s kingdom, urging everyone to spend their years for the Lord and invest in His work. “Do not grow weary in serving,” he encouraged, “for every sacrifice and labor you do, God records it.”
Concluding with conviction, he declared:
“May gawain at trabaho pa ba na hihigit sa gawain at trabaho ng Dios?
Ang pinakadakila na magagawa natin ay ang gawin ang gawain ng Dios.
Ito ang gawain na hindi mawawalan ng gantimpala.”
Ultimately, Apostle Jonathan’s message was a call to live with purpose—to serve faithfully and remember that we are
“God’s chosen people, created in Christ Jesus to do good works and to declare the excellencies of Him who has brought us from darkness to light.”
A Miraculous Declaration of Power
Despite the rain that marked the beginning of the event, God’s power was manifested as the downpour ceased through the declaration of His Word—another testament of His providence and blessing. This miraculous moment reignited the brethren’s faith, strengthening their resolve to remain steadfast, revived, and glorious as the Marikina Special District steps into its 53rd year.
As the day drew to a close, the spirit of joy continued to overflow. Sister KC Gonzales, together with the Marikina Special District Praise and Worship Team and MCA-NCLC students, led the congregation in songs and dances of victory.
Finally, a dazzling fireworks display illuminated the evening sky, symbolizing the Church’s bright future and continuous growth. The combination of worship, performances, and uplifting messages left a lasting impression on all who attended—a celebration to be cherished for years to come.
Grateful. Revived. Glorious.
The 52nd Church Anniversary was indeed another milestone—a living testimony of God’s unending favor upon His people. As the Marikina Special District moves forward into its 53rd year, the Church stands more grateful, revived, and glorious than ever—carrying the fire of faith and pressing on toward the greater works that God has prepared ahead.
